Technophonia shortlisted for British Composer Award

Drake Music Scotland’s commission Technophonia has been nominated for a prestigious British Composer Award in the Community/Education Category.

Written by Oliver Searle,  Technophonia is scored for traditional orchestral instruments and the cutting-edge inclusive instrument technologies of Soundbeam, Skoog and Brainfingers to create an inclusive work for both young musicians with and without disabilities.

Technophonia was supported by New Music 20×12, a UK-wide commissioning programme initiated by Jillian Barker and David Cohen, and delivered by PRS for Music Foundation in partnership with the BBC, London 2012, Sound and Music and NMC Recordings.
