Opportunities: Paid Traineeships

Drake Music Scotland is looking for talented musicians with disabilities and/or sensory impairments with a desire to develop their skills in leading music projects. We have secured funding from Creative Scotland’s Youth Music Initiative to create traineeships. Trainees will receive professional development including training, mentoring, and practical project placements between December 2014 and August 2015 over a total of 30 days.

Traineeships will be paid at £80 per day (30 days total) and an additional budget is available to cover travel, accommodation and support requirements (e.g. sign language interpreter). Each traineeship will be tailored to meet the needs of successful candidates.

Hey I’m a recording artist/sound engineer with multiple sclerosis, I’ve been playing music 15years since I was six (now 21) diagnosed with MS at 16. Ive been recording properly since I was 14 and built my own mini mix room and started recording my own material at 17 till present. I started playing violin at 6 guitar at 9 and all other stringed instruments and harmonica came naturally. I got told about this by an old music teacher Could I have more details about this please.
