EQ at Celtic Connections

Equilibrium wowed audiences at Celtic Connections on Saturday with a selection of their own compositions played by a range of acoustic instruments such as the harp, recorder and fiddle alongside new digital instruments that can be played by musicians with limited mobility.

After premiering at the Edinburgh International Harp Festival in 2014 with a specially written piece by Fiona Rutherford, Equilibrium have gone from strength to strength with performances at the Scottish Parliament, Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Scots Fiddle Festival and now Celtic Connections.

Equilibrium attend our studios in Edinburgh every week for rehearsals and tuition and we are very grateful to the RS Macdonald Trust for support of these sessions.

We are also very grateful to the PRS for Music Foundation for support of the new commission by ensemble member Amy Moar which was performed on Saturday.  We were very disappointed that Amy could not attend herself due to illness and wish her well in her recovery.
