A year in the studio

To mark the first anniversary of the opening of our recording studio by The Proclaimers on 13 May 2010, we’ve published a selection of photographs on Flickr which show some of the highlights from the past twelve months.

Photographs from a year in the studio on Flickr

In its first year:

  • – around 50 children and adults have taken part in over 400 rehearsal/ recording sessions
  • – 18 musicians and studio technicians have taken part in recording and music technology training sessions
  • – 6 young adults have attended our course in Music Technology accredited by Jewel & Esk College funded by Creative Scotland’s YMI Access & Excellence Fund
  • – In-house band Audability has recorded 14 new tracks for its first album which will be released later in the year

We’ ve also provided work experience for three young people with disabilities including Chris Jacquin who made a short film about his experiences.

The new recording studio was made possible by winning funding from the Big Lottery Fund People’s Millions competition.
